Directions to the Institute
By car:
From Mannheim or Saarbrücken:
Highway (Autobahn) A6 , take exit ‘Homburg/Saar’, follow the sign to ‘Homburg’, then follow the signs to ‘Kliniken/ Universitätskliniken’.
From Luxembourg, Trier or Koblenz:
Autobahn A8 bis Autobahnkreuz Neunkirchen/Saar, dort wechseln auf die Autobahn A6 in Richtung Mannheim bis zur nächsten Ausfahrt Homburg/Saar, dann wie oben
Free parking possibilities exist in the ‘Parkhaus’ at the main entrance of the University Hospital. Within the area of the Hospital you can use a shuttle bus (Mo-Th 7.00 - 17.00; Fr 7.00 - 16.00; every 15 min.)
By train (Deutsche Bahn):
National connections:
Frankfurt - Mannheim - Saarbrücken;
Münster - Duisburg - Düsseldorf - Köln - Saarbrücken.
International connections:
Paris - Metz - Saarbrücken;
Luxembourg - Saarbrücken;
Strassbourg - Saarbrücken.
ICET/TGV connections:
Paris - Saarbrücken (110 minutes);
Frankfurt - Saarbrücken (110 minutes).
City bus connections (saarpfalzbus.de):
InterCityExpress/ EuroCity from Saarbrücken - Homburg, at the train station take either a Taxi to the University Hospital (travel takes ca.10 minutes) or take a city bus (line 511 or 512).
City bus line 511: starts from the train station at 5.45 every 30 minutes in the morning. Arrival at the main entrance of the University Hospital is approximately 12 minutes later. Then take the shuttle bus or walk up the street to the Institute.
City bus line 512: starts from the train station at 5.36 every 30 minutes in the morning. Arrival at the main entrance of the University Hospital is approximately 12 minutes later. Get off the bus at ‘Klinikum Mitte’. Your approximately 1 minute from your destination.

Mo.-Fr. Departure main entrance 7:00 bis 16:00 Uhr every 15 min.
